"The Ever Changing Past", 2022, Merav Shinn Ben-Alon, Givat Haim Ihud Art Gallery,
Curator:  Hanush Morag

Oil paintings on canvas, digital collage works, and prints, drawings originating from sketchbook archives are some of the elements used by the artist Merav Shinn Ben-Alon in constructing her new Solo show installation at the Givat Haim Ihud Gallery in the Emek Hefer.

In this installation titled "The Ever Changing Past," she explores the possibility of constructing a new syntax based on various works created by her in different periods and mediums.

Retrospection is not a conclusive action for her but rather an observation of how creation revolves around trauma in a non-linear manner. It is an action rooted in movement. The past in the exhibition does not "belong to the past"; it is not static nor functions solely as memory.

Instead, it is a living and creative material that charges the present meanings and contexts and offers the potential to build and tell a new story.
